There’s one big difference: Florida plays for — and wins — national titles.
No wonder Meyer has overtaken USC’s Pete Carroll as the game’s best coach. A brief list of why Meyer is the hottest coach in college football:

by Husker Mike
In Nebraska’s bid to win the Sun Belt Conference championship in 2009, Arkansas State stands to be the biggest challenge of them all. Florida Atlantic seems to be the team that Husker fans look most warily at, with a top 25 offense and a four year starter at quarterback. But frankly, I think Arkansas State is the best of Nebraska’s three Sun Belt foes.
The Red Wolves, who changed their mascot from the Indians last season, are lead by [...]

1. Michigan: A rematch of the 1972 Rose Bowl that Stanford won 13-12. Great marketing tie-in to the past, not to mention a game in the Big House would be fun.
2. Oklahoma: Anyone else remember John Elway and the Cardinal going into Norman, Oklahoma and whipping up on the Sooners 31-14? How much fun would it be to do the same to a Bob Stoops led team?
3. Tulane: Okay, for football reasons it might not be real attractive, but a road trip to New Orleans? [...]

Giving back was the name of the game for Pittsburgh Steelers linebacker LaMarr Woodley of Saginaw. He hosted his second free football camp for youngsters in the city along with St. Louis Rams defensive tackle Clifton Ryan.
Woodley stood on the very same Saginaw High School field that launched his career, recalling a similar experience that changed his life.

As Iranians prepare for the country’s increasingly unpredictable presidential election, a national football disappointment yesterday provided a paradoxical boost for those hoping to unseat the incumbent hardliner, Mahmoud Ahmadinejad.
President Ahmadinejad faces a serious challenge from Mir Hossein Musavi, who is reviving the hopes of the long-demoralised reformist camp. Musavi, a former prime minister, benefited when Iran drew 0-0 against North Korea – reinforcing worries that the beautiful game has declined along with the Islamic Republic’s economic situation and international standing during Ahmadinejad’s stormy four-year term.

There were scores of coaches and hundreds of high school football players. It was the Ohio State summer football camp, but it could have been labeled paradise as far as John Peterson was concerned.
