Buc Open boosts Grand Haven athletics

Over 100 golfers converged on Grand Haven Golf Club on Friday to help out the athletic programs at Grand Haven High School, along with White Pines and Lakeshore middle schools.

The Ed Suchecki Memorial Buc Open drew a total of 31 teams to GHGC on Friday. Golfers enjoyed an overcast and breezy but thankfully dry afternoon at the golf course in the event which raises funds to help support athletics at Grand Haven.

“The first benefit is, you’re getting people involved in a positive project,” said Grand Haven High School athletic director Jack Provencal. “Plus, this helps our programs, grades 7-12. It provides funds that we otherwise wouldn’t have for uniforms, equipment, professional development for coaches, and other things as the needs arise.” Read more
