Chairman of All England Club – Philip Brook

Philip Brook: Chairma of All England ClubPhilip Brook, member of Wimbledon championship management committee since 1997. He is a captain of Cambridge University’s tennis team. Wimbledon Tickets.

Brook, 54 years old has been a member of All England Club and elected chairman of Wimbledon’s All England Club.

Tim Phillips had last chairman in the post after 11 years who retired.

The appointment was announced on Thursday and is effective instantly.

Anderson to play SA Tennis available – Wimbledon Championship

AndersonAt the 2011 SA Wimbledon Championship Tennis now available will be played at Montecasino in Johannesburg from 31 January to 6 February.

Feliciano Lopez is a champion 2010 of Spain, Kevin Anderson will be in the field for this R3.5-million tournament. Previous year Anderson left the tournament in 2008. However, the South African will return in 2011 in all likelihood as a seeded player.

Tournament Direction Ian Smith said, “It is very exciting for us to have Kevin back for next year’s tournament. The South African public love to support the local players and with his current form, Kevin is sure to give them something to shout about.

Smith said, “Considering that the Australian Open is played just before our tournament which makes top-20 players hard to acquire, I feel we’ve put together a most competitive and interesting field. I have little doubt we will be witnessing some remarkable tennis during the first week of February.”

The tournament will be played end of the weekend for 29 and 30 January and their torunament will be no charge for tennis fans to attend end those two days.

Justine Henin returns to action after elbow injury

At the Australian Open 2011,on Thursday,World No. 1 superstar Rafael Nadal was an easy second-round winner.

Henin forced to announce second retirement

For a second time, Justin Henin has announced her retirement for the second time from tennis yesterday.

She revealed that in Australia saying that she had suffered further injury to elbow she initial had an injury at Wimbledon last summer. She said she had been advised that the elbow was “too fragile and hurt so that my passion and my profession at high level cannot continue to exist.”

While Henin was no.1 in the world ranking she announced her retirement for the first time,then she face on her second comeback after twenty years in Australian Open where she reached in final,but her season was curtailed when she damaged elbow ligaments in a fall at Wimbledon. She returned in the Hopman Cup earlier this month and reached the third round here, losing to Svetlana Kuznetsova. The last win of her career was against Britain’s Elena Baltacha.

“The past few weeks there was a little bit more pain every day, but I thought my willpower would prevail. Today, the tests and my doctors are adamant,” she said.

Justine is in mourning because she left tennis due to a persistent elbow injury,revealed by herself.

After losing to Svetlana Kuznetsova in the at the Australian Open, seven time grand slam winner announces the retirement and that at the age of 29, it was time to hang up the racquet for good.

Henin admits she is going to struggle with life away from the court. “I regard ending my career more like a sentence that’s been handed down than a decision I’ve made. The will is there, but physically I can’t [carry on]. Now I have to mourn the end of my career.

She added: “I’m going to miss all the great feelings you have as a professional tennis player. I hope I’ll pick the racquet up again one day, but more than anything I want to live a normal life.”

At Wimbledon in June 2010,she first got injured and required an operation but says the injury pain was still affecting her problems six months later in Melbourne.

She added: “It got to the point that I needed 10 minutes in the morning just to get my elbow functional.”

Ancic tennis career was full of injury and illness, he will now turn his focus to a career in law. He called it quits after 10 years.

“It was one of the toughest decisions I ever had to make,” Ancic said. “I’m only 26, but my body said I would not be able to continue on a high level.”

“I was advised to either undergo surgery or go through a conservative method, but I had no guarantee with either option.”

Ancic captured three titles and reached a career-high No. 7 in the world in 2006. His best-ever Grand Slam showing was a trip into the semifinals at Wimbledon in 2004.
